Perfect! Left resort in Akeley at 8:00am. By 10:00 we were ready for breakfast! The negative reviews are crazy. Awesome breakfast arrived fast and PIPING HOT. Our server, Emily, was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Place is clean, local family restaurant. Just what we needed after a week at the lake! Beat the hell out of Perkins in Little Falls.
We'll be back next July! -

I have always loved this place. I have been going here since I was a boy. It's definitely a staple in Saint Cloud. Great food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. The food is amazing and not overpriced. The favorite for myself would have to be the northstar breakfast it's amazing I would recommend that to anyone who goes.

Was in Saturday morning around 10am. Ordered a garden omelette, eggs and bacon, and biscuits and gravy. Omelette was bland, no flavor. Bacon wasn't anything but fatty. Hash browns were nothing but grease. Biscuits were doughy, sausage wasn't done. Burnt on the outside and chewy and cold on the inside. Service was alright. Waitress was alright.

Impromptu stop for breakfast. Sat at a booth. Our waitress was fantastic, personal and helpful.
Started with coffee. Their coffee is fairly standard. I had Eggs Benedict. The eggs cooked perfectly, the Canadian bacon was thick and delicious. The sauce looked processed, but it had wonderful flavor. The hash browns crunchy, which went well with the excess sauce.
Surprisingly nice stop. We'll be back! -

All along the strip on Hwy 10 between New York Mills and 35W in the Twin Cities I could honestly say that this was always my stop for a bite. I've always loved to support local food establishments.
I really don't understand the other bad reviews. Our server was great, very cheery, was attentive, and interacted with our boy sweetly. They have BROASTED chicken! If you don't know what that is, is basically a chicken pressure fryer. So the juices are locked in, and the crust is twice as crunchy as regular fried chicken. My wife got the pork chops, and she got three!!
Ok so the rest of the sides etc were bland midwestern fare. But dang it, it is MINNESNOWTA!! If you didn't know, most Minnesotans outside the cities might think a gastro pub is where you had a beer and got gut problems when you get home. So Copper Lantern serves up typical midwestern comfort food where you have to put on your own salt and pepper. Well that sounds just like the place where my Godmother and her mother, and her mother would come for a Sunday after church meal. Nuff said.
They only lost one star because the men's bathroom needed some attention.
So for all the naysayers out there, I would rather come here than a Perkin's any day of the week.
